Mixing elements of suspense and magical realism, Valadez has crafted a sincere thriller following Magdalena (Mercedes Hernandez), a mother in search of her missing son, Jesús (Juan Jesús Varela), who left Guanajuato to cross the U.S. border, seeking work opportunities. Magdalena, desperate to know whether or not he’s still alive, sets out to discover the truth.
